I am a freelance illustrator and professional draughtsman. I specialise in perspective drawing, cityscapes and illustrated maps, but am equally adept at rendering people, wildlife or inanimate objects. I studied Fine Art at the Univeristy of Reading and followed this with a stint as an intern at Warwickshire County Council's Archaeology department, where I illustrated a range of ancient and remarkable objects. As a freelancer, I have provided illustrations for art tutorials, children's books, book covers, guide books, brochures and company conferences.
With my personal work, I have been focusing on exploring the graphic and linear qualities of the world around us and depicting these in a clear, imaginative and engaging way. I have a blog - illustratedmaps.info - in which I write in a little more detail about the working processes of my illustration.
If you are seeking an illustrator with strong technical skills who can provide a creative solution to a brief then please do get in touch to discuss your project. I can be contacted by email at art@abigaildaker.com.
